I read the comments that the DPM made yesterday. He has assured the Indian community that the government is serious about solving the woes of the said community. Well done Sir. I say all Malaysians in this country should be given the assurance that all irrespective of race and religion would be cared for equally. Anyway the government's verbal assurance given to the Indian community is appreciated. More importantly is that all the verbal assurances are actually made a reality. No point talking about wanting to do something, when one is not sincere and committed to making such assurances a reality.
I don't know if the assurances given are going to materialise and actually make the plight of the Indians in this country better. I tell you why I have my reservations. The former de facto Law Minister Datuk Zaid remarked lately that the "Ketuanan Melayu " was a failure. I tend to agree with him. Not only do I agree with him but I dare say that the Federal Constitution does not say anything about "Ketuanan Melayu". I sincerely believe that there are no "tuan" in Malaysia. We are all afforded equal rights as per the Constitution. The Malays are given some special rights but that does not make them "tuan". We are all Malaysians first and foremost. We must all work together to make this country great. If we start talking about who is master and who is not, then this country is doomed to failure.
Datuk Syed Hamid Albar has demanded that the former law minister Datuk Zaid apologises for his remarks. He even called the man a traitor to his own race! Oh dear .......!
Cukuplah Datuk Syed, Cukup! Enough of the racist policies that continue to divide us Malaysians. We do not need people like you in the government. You are an embarrassment to this nation. What the country needs are more people like Datuk Zaid to be in the government and promote better unity and understanding among the races.
Didnt Hitler try to promote the "Aryan supremacy" race concept and fail ? Are we going to emulate Hitler and be doomed to failure ?
