Why the hidden faces ?

Just why are they hiding their faces ?

This is one aspect of that infamous Mongolian murder trial that just makes me want to shout "double standards" out loud. I have been in criminal law practise for more than a decade now. I have to state for the record that I have not seen any accused persons being brought to court "bungkus" like these two. Simply amazing! Just why are they being allowed to cover their faces like this is simply a mystery to me. To me the only way these two are getting away with this practise is if the police are actually helping them. I know that the prison authorities in Sungai Buloh will not approve this sort of attire in prison. It must be when they are being transported in the police trucks/vans that they are doing this "bungkus" job. With handcuffs on....it would be absurd if someone tells me that these two are capable of doing this "bungkus" job on their own. Question here is this : Why then, are the boys in blue helping these two to cover their faces ? Is this not a security issue ? Is there a possibility of them getting strangled under all that clothes ? Why are they afforded this special treatment anyway ?

Shocked....maybe not!

NST picture of a free Razak today

Maybe I am not so shockedlah!

Just heard that the decision in that infamous mongolian murder trial is out. It appears that the judge has made a finding that Razak Baginda be acquitted of abetting the other two of murdering that Mongolian woman. Funny verdict. I cant quite understand this decision. Why then did the other two commit the dastardly act ? What was their motive ? Why murder someone whom you do not know ? Whose instructions were they following, if any ?

Ahhhhh....... so many questions in my head. No answers seem to be the order of the day. Guess you and I have to wait and see what kind of defence the remaining two are going to put up later in the trial.

Maybe there are aliens amongst us.........maybe they are making us do things that we should not do. Maybe that is a plausible reason. As the tag line from the TV series the X files go......."the truth is out there"

Justice or Just Ice ?

JUSTICE or JUST ICE ?I am so sorry to hear that Justice Ian Chin The High Court judge in Sarawak had tendered his resignation. I do not know the man personally nor have I appeared personally before him in court. The little that I know of him speaks a lot for the man. The allegations that he made against the former PM was "explosive" in nature. Justice Chin had accused the former PM of interfering and even threatening the judiciary whilst in office. If I remember correctly he even described the former PM as the "Devil incarnate". Anyway it appears that the government has decided not to investigate the allegations levelled against the former PM! Strange call this.... by the government .... or maybe I should have said ... so typical! Let us just sweep everything under the carpet and just forget that the problem exists. So typical. All that talk of reforms and better transparency and accountability is mere "cakap kosong".
Anyway the present PM when asked about abolishing (at the LAWASIA conference yesterday) the ISA had said this in response " As a former Home Minister I am well aware of the law and why we must have it. It is not an easy law to execute. Without fear or favour, I discharge my responsibilities" Mr PM .... all i can say is this......Ya rite !!! If you really mean what you say just get the former PM arrested and remand him for a week at least.......... with no bail. Give him the same treatment that the average Ali, Ah Seng and Raju gets when arrested by the police in this country. After that..... demand that the AG levels charges him in court for all the alleged wrongdoings of the past. Only then will I believe you. Otherwise I think you better stop talking rubbish! Betul bosanlah!

Breach of article 152 ?

Whylah ? Arghhh.......!

I don't get it. I just don't get it. I read the papers today that Dewan Bahasa and Pustaka is opposing the road signs put up by the Penang state government. They say to do so would be in breach of the Article 152 of the Federal Constitution. This morning not being to happy of this new development I checked up on Article 152. All it says is that the National language shall be the Malay language and it shall be in the script as Parliament by law provide. As far as I know putting up road signages in languages in addition to the ones in Malay do not make it ipso facto breach of Article 152. The road signs are mere tools to direct and assist people at certain popular tourist spots. I believe no one is questioning the National language. I for one love the Malay language. As I come from Melaka it is also my favourite language when it comes to conversing with my friends and even family at times. Merely by having additional road signs in other languages cant necessarily mean that the National language has been disrespected. Sorry Dewan Bahasa and Pustaka I think you people are making a fuss over nothing! I think you guys be better off doing something more useful lah!

Happy Deepavali!

Happy Deepavali!

To all my brothers and sisters that are celebrating this auspicious day my Deepavali greetings to you. May the light of wisdom illuminate the darkness of ignorance in our minds always. To all others happy holidays. Drive safe and be safe always.

I am sick!

Just so sick of the crap that's going on!
My list for being sick recently :-
1) Anwar-for now saying that he doesn't know when he is going to take over. He says " We are in no hurry!" Duh.... hello itu hari kasi deadline and all... got the whole country riled up and now say this! What crap!
2) Zulkifli Nordin- That nut case of a lawyer/politician! I don't know what he is up to these days. Just more crap from his mouth these days! The statements that he made in Parliament is mind boggling and just plain absurd. Read about it in the paperslah. I am not going to dignify the man by repeating it here.
3) The Malaysian Bar Council - for denying Tun Salleh Abbas the status of "consultant". Simply stupid i think. The Bar Council has been practising double standards in this case. In another ex-judge's case boleh, but Tun Salleh tak boleh!
4) The Malaysian Bar Council- For allowing itself to be a tool of the government. Asking/allowing the government to pay for our dinners is "sick". We are supposed to be neutral are we not ? So why are still seeking funds from the government to pay for our dinners ? To then give "standing ovations" to the PM after he promised reforms to the judiciary ? For the record to date there has been no improvement made to the Judiciary despite all the "cakap"!
5) Reading about how the opposition MPs get suspended time and again from Parliament! Whylah ?
6) Don't know what is safe to eat anymore! Now they tell me I cant eat pau, bread and biscuits for fear of "melamine" and tainted "ammonium bicarbonate"!
7) Despite the furore the Melaka state is still hell bent on giving Shah Rukh Khan a Datukship. All for a song and dance routine that possibly millions watched in the movies! Now that they have seen it they will be coming in droves to Melaka!!! Ha-ha-Ha! Excuse me.... I actually am rolling on the floor at this juncture.
8) Open Houses with tighter security from now on says one minister. Another minister says that the whole thing should be reviewed!
Aiyoh..... excuse me....now I have to go throw up!

I disagree Mr PM

I disagree Mr PM!

I read this on Malaysiakini just a few minutes ago. I quote "

Abdullah: Umno is not a bully
Beh Lih Yi Oct 18, 08 11:25am
Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has dismissed suggestion that Umno has dominated the ruling Barisan Nasional coalition at the expense of other component parties. Opening the 55th MCA annual general meeting in Kuala Lumpur today, Abdullah - who is also BN chairperson - said the issue of Umno being a “bully” has never arise.“Umno is not a ‘bully’ party, there is no such thing as bully, we are all friends,” Abdullah said in reply to a point raised by outgoing MCA president Ong Ka Ting in farewell speech earlier."

Sorry Mr PM... I certainly disagree with you. Your party is definitely a bully! For example you guys unilaterally used the ISA despite the objections of your other component BN parties recently. If that is not bullying then what is ? Where is the "power sharing" that you BN chaps always talk about ? Sorry Mr PM I disagree with your views.

What a genius !

The man's a genius !

I read this in the Star paper today. I quote "©The Star KUALA LUMPUR: A police beat base located in the Chow Kit area of downtown Kuala Lumpur has been shut down because the “presence of criminals could make it unsafe” for police officers.Home Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar said the beat base was located in a dirty area where police faced the possibility of being exposed to contagious diseases. The presence of criminals also posed a threat to the safety of police officers.
He said this in a written reply to Dr Lo’ Lo’ Mohamad Ghazali (PAS - Titiwangsa)."
And you guys were wondering why he banned HINDRAF! Ha-ha!!! This genius funnylah. Ha-ha!! I am rolling over on the floor overcome by uncontrollable laughter.... Ha-Ha!!!!
Kalau polis pun takut criminal.....macam mana ni......? Ha-ha-Ha!!! You funnylah Mr Minister!

10 qualities to qualify as a politician

Eh... gambar siapa ni ?

I think the following 10 qualities are a pre requisite to be a successful politician in Malaysia :-
1) Practise racial politics. Constantly remind the masses of the May 13 incident and always assure the masses that only your politics assure stability and peace;
2) Practise double standards. Always tell others to do things that you yourself don't practice;
3) Never keep your word and always say " we are trying our best" and " we are forming a working committee to look into the matter". Amnesia is to be the preferred ailment of choice should there be a confrontation of facts. Always say " I cant remember";
4) Try to assist as many family members to obtain permits, contracts, tenders and other things that generally tend to show that you practise corruption, nepotism and favoritism;
5) Arrest and detain anyone for having a different set of views from that of your own. Use the inhumane laws to arbitrarily detain anyone without trial;
6) Ensure that all the papers, tv, radio and all other media carry reports that are favourable to you. All others must be shamed and ridiculed;
7) Implement policies that generally favour yourself, family, friends and all other cronies;
8) Always stay on way past your due date. Always insist that only you are able to provide leadership and that you are still needed for party and country;
9) Make giant pictures/posters of yourself and put them up everywhere. This will ensure that you remain close to the people at all times;
10) Never take responsibility for any wrong doing and always say that you were misquoted and it was others that were responsible.
Care to add to the list anyone ?
Cheers,

What an explanation ? Amazing!

Spewing absolute rubbish!
Did you guys read what our De Facto Law Minister say about the indelible ink fiasco in parliament ? Anyway if you missed it....... he says a police report was actually lodged by the Election Commission that certain people had purchased indelible ink from abroad to create confusion on the status of voters. "It was not false. The report led to the cancellation of the ink's use in the March 8 general election".
The genius when asked why no action was taken against the culprit was reported to have said this " Police carried out an investigation based on the report and found no evidence to support the claims, but that doesn't mean the complainant had filed a false report". Read it for yourself at page 15 of the NST and be amazed!
Say what ???....... If nobody did the alleged act doesn't that necessarily mean that the report is false ?...... Duhhh!!!!! I rest my case on this genius. Actually the less said about this man the better!
Oh dear... looks like the DPM has more allegations levelled against him. Now it is with regards the helicopter deals. Hmmmm......So many questions are lingering regarding this man. This was also the person who was alleged to have raised his keris in 1987 and said that he would bathe it with the blood of a certain race....... Oh dear..... Why do I have this strange feeling in my stomach that this chap is not going to make Malaysia proud in the future?
Moving on..... That Utusan paper has also gone out of line. That fictitious story about "YB J" is absolute rubbish! It speaks a lot for journalism in this country.

I disagree Mr PM.

Sorrylah Mr PM.... I am not convinced!

The PM says that we the rakyat should not pay heed to all the allegations against the DPM. He says "I don't believe that Najib had abused his powers. If he did how can he be my successor ? I believe that he is a good person and that he will be a good PM".
Sorrylah Mr PM I don't buy it one bit. I think that at the moment there is one allegation too many against that Najib chap. I am of the opinion that there are simply too many questions regarding Najib presently and his possible involvement in that infamous murder.Didn't that PI Bala "implicate" Najib in his SD ? Anyway.... what has happened to that PI Bala ? Where has he gone to ? Why did he disappear ? Did the police investigate the PI's SD ? What is the outcome of the investigations ? Why did PI Bala retract his SD and then disappear ? What about the missing immigration records of the dead woman ? Hmmm..... I don't knowlah.. I am not saying that Najib is guilty of anything here. All I am saying is that until all these matters are cleared up satisfactorily...the jury is still out as to whether Najib should lead the nation.I am also of the opinion that whoever leads the nation should not only be clean but also seen or perceived to be clean. Anything short of those standards would not instil confidence but only invite endless trouble.
Whatever it is the next few months is certainly going to be interesting for us Malaysians. The amazing race is hotting up and it is certainly going to keep us Malaysians 'entertained"!
Hold on tight and fasten your seat belts folks..... May be a bumpy ride ahead!
Cheers!

Do you believe ?

"We Malaysians are well insulated from the global credit crunch!" .......You believe ah ?

I don't know about you but I don't believe we are ok. Call me a sceptic... but I think our house is in a mess. If you believe the politicians and all the propaganda machinery that runs the spin that we read in the papers, watch on the telly and hear on the radio.....then we are ok. Somehow I have my fears that all is not well with the economy. Just look at the share market.....Hmmmmm.....
I also say this because I think all the big guns who matter in the government seem to have their eyes firmly fixed on the "Amazing Race". Who is getting nominations ? By which branch and the number of nominations, etc.... The amazing race is getting more coverage than the world credit crunch. I tell you it sends the shivers down my spine when I think about all this. Nobody seems to be talking about how to help the average Ali, Samy and Lim. Even if they do.... it is about prudent spending and how we should cut expenditure. Our politicians ...only good in giving advice but never to lead by example. Semua cakap tak serupa bikin!
Talk about believe... do you for one moment believe that our PM is going to achieve all the so called reforms to the major institutions within the next 5 months ? Aiyoh Mr PM... you had 5 years and you did diddly squat! Call me a sceptic... but do you actually think you are gonna acomplish all that within that short period of time ?
Moving on.......That Mr former CM of Penang wants us to believe that our outgoing PM is the "Father of Democracy"!!! Aiyoh.... Hello you something wrong is it ? Under whose watch did people like RPK and Theresa got detained under ISA ? Under whose watch did that poor journalist girl got detained under the ISA for her "own safety" ? All the others that have been detained under the ISA... who signed the papers for detention ? Hello... Mr former CM didn't you also complain of the use of the ISA ? Wasn't RPK also charged for sedition ? Semua ini sudah lupakah ? What about censoring the internet ? ...... Hello ..... what democracy ?
You still believe.... all is ok ?

P/S Do you believe that Shah Rukh Khan truly deserves the "Datukship"? A Datukship for having scenes of Melaka in his movies ? Phew..... apalah!

Datukship for Shah Rukh Khan!

Please meet Shah Rukh Khan. Oh ya sorry.... Datuk Shah Rukh Khan!

The Malacca TYT has decided in his infinite wisdom to honour the above pictured man with a Datukship. This man is a well known Indian actor. I have to confess of having watched a few of his movies in the past. Quite a good actor too I must add.

The thing that bothers me the most about this award is this........ What has SRK done/contributed to deserve this award ? How has he improved the lot in Melaka that he is deserving of this award ? What has he done for the people of Melaka? What sort of selfless service has SRK given tirelessly to the state of Melaka and her people in the past?

Frankly I know not of any and I come from the state of Melaka. I haven't dengar apa-apa about what SRK had done for the people of Melaka in the past. I cant begin to believe that my home state is honouring SRK now! What is the basis of giving this award to SRK ? I thought you must have done something really invaluable for the people to be bestowed with a "Datukship". Maybe I was wrongly informed. Maybe these days it is just an award that is to be given indiscriminately and to just your "cronies" and fellas one likes! Quite a joke this!

Maybe next year we can award "Rajnikanth" that superstar from South India with Datukship for services rendered to mankind ? How.....bolehkah ?

A case of double standards ?

Aiyoh! Dia cakap boleh... lain orang tak boleh! Macam mana ni ?

I almost fell out of my chair this morning when I read the newspaper. Real funny..I tell you. The report is under the column "Shut up after handover, Dr M tells Abdullah". Read it to believe it for yourself. It is on page 4 of the NST.
Well if you believe the papers, apparently Dr M has told Pak Lah to shut up once he leaves office. Dr M is reported to have said " He must keep quiet and let Najib run the show". Ha-ha! Real funnylah this guy. He who was "Mr No holds barred" when it came to criticising the PM is now advising the PM to shut up after leaving office. This man after leaving office had been talking, talking and talking about everything under the sun. He can do this but Pak Lah cannot is it ? Why ah ? Why the double standards? Dia cakap boleh......Hmmmmm... hello... Democracy what ? Lupakah ?
Anyway, all this power transition does not detract from the fact that the BN practices gutter politics and is incapable of running this country.The policies of old and rather sad old tunes do not entice the rakyat anymore. Sadly the BN is still under the illusion that the rakyat has full confidence in it. I am sorry to break the bad news to them but I believe the mighty ship called "The BN" is sinking. It had struck a leak when it hit the massive iceberg on the 8-3-08! It is now leaking badly and is only a matter of time before the ship is going to sink to the bottom of the ocean!
Life boats anyone ?
Cheers !

Really stupid people!

The X ray picture of the brains of some of our "leaders" !

There are some of us whom i would say are not very clever. In plain words I would just call them stupid! Mind you these are the very people whom we are supposed to tabik when we see them. Of course these people happen to be high ranking government officials, politicians or even ex politicians sometimes. The names that I would put on this list in all honesty would be a very long one. I doubt if I were to be able to put all the names here that I would consider worthy to be mentioned on this honour list!

The first on the list (going by recent most events) would be the high ranking official of the government that suggested the banning of HINDRAF. You people are so thick isn't it. Despite the bashing you people got at the hands of the rakyat you people still have not learnt your lesson, isn't it ? Tell you what genius... just go talk to the HINDRAF people and see how you can solve their problem. All it takes is a little common sense and a lot of goodwill on both parties to reach a workable solution to the problem at hand. All this talk of "banning" is plain stupid! It is only going to get the problem swept under the carpet and the "problem" may turn out to be even greaterin the future.

Using the ISA on people who have differences in opinion from that of the "official" line is stupid. It is not only stupid but an act of lunacy. Pure madness!

The refusal to allow the poor girl in Melaka to be exempted from the National Service programme is also stupid. The poor family had just lost their only son. His death is quite possibly related to the National Service programme. How else would one reasonably view the said death ? Now that the only son is gone, the NS programme people wants the only daughter of the family to report for NS duty. They have allowed her to postphone her stint but have denied her the exemption. This in my book qualifies the person/persons who made the decision just plain stupid. I am also one person who says that the NS programme in the present format should be scrapped. There have been too many unexplained deaths at the camps. It must stop!

By the way did anyone see that giant cut out of Anwar's picture in Batu Caves/Gombak ? This is a waste of money. The people who were responsible for putting up that giant structure in my book ought to have their head examined. Just plain stupidlah! We all know who Anwar is. Tak payah buang duit macam inilah! I am sure the money used for the huge cut out could have been put to better use. Please dont ape the BN folks by putting up your picture everywhere.

Malaysia ini .....macam-macam ada!

Amazing Race!

Malaysia's amazing race to power..... Only politicians need apply!

I cant help but smile when I read about how certain personalities are getting geared up for the amazing race. This race happens to be amazing this year because it is a free for all kind of race. Every Tom, Dick and Abdullah qualifies or thinks he is qualified to compete in the race. This race brings fame, fortune and power. Yes power......even the power to incarcerate fellow men to that recreational institution up there in Kamunting.

If you still don't know what I am talking about.....Aiyoh...where have you been? I am talking about the UMNO party electionslah. One day Mr Flip Flop says he is standing for elections to defend his presidency.... then ooops..."I will tell you later". Will he or wont he ? What is wrong with this chap ? Can he make up his mind for once in his life ?

Then of course there is talk that Najib will contest the presidency. Even the other chap i.e the former MB from Johor is said to be interested too. Oh ya.. lupa Ku Li from Kelantan also interested.With regards the Vice President's post the less spoken I think the better.

Ok what....democracy what... So my fellow Malaysians.....I give you the amazing race courtesy of the clowns that run this country!

Malaysia ini....macam-macam ada!

Cheers,

M V Nathan

P/S All other component parties of the BN.... your views as to how this country is being run is not needed. Only those who win the amazing race has any real power to do anything in this country. Only they have the power! Dont believe me ? Just consider this........ The use of the ISA! Only one party makes all the decisions that matter in this country.

Shut him up we must!

Shut him up !
It is rather sad to note that RPK was brought to court in PJ to face charges under the Sedition Act this morning. Not only has he been incarcerated under the ISA at Kamunting now the sedition charges are proceeding as usual! Talk about overkill!I guess "they" have to shut him up ! At least that is how it appears to me. Sad....really sad.
In my mind I cannot begin to understand how any "government" would be capable of doing such a cruel act upon its citizen. All because he was different? In my humble view his only "crime" was to speak his mind. And for this he has to be incarcerated? Sad... really sad.
Then again..... if they can charge him in court for a sedition charge....why then cant they charge him in open court for all the other "charges" that has been levelled against him. Why should this man be denied his right to a fair trial?Is this man so dangerous that he is to be denied his right to defend himself? Sad....really sad.
