Intimidation ?
I read something very interesting in the NST today. It was reported that a senior police officer had lodged a police report against the presiding Magistrate in the Manjung Magistrate's court. And guess what, the report was made against the Magistrate for her refusal to extend the remand of a dadah suspect! Wow isn't that a first?
The Magistrate I believe was merely exercising the functions of a magistrate in seeing that remand orders are done properly and in accordance with the law. Well it seems that the police officer not happy with the police being denied the remand order had decided to lodge a police report against the particular Magistrate. I am flabbergasted ! Words cant begin to describe my feelings now!
Does that mean, every time the police is unhappy with a decision handed by the courts, they are going to lodge police reports ? Who then is going to investigate ? What possible offences have been committed ? What the devil is going on ? The PDRM has lost the plot I think. The only proper way for the police should they be happy with the Magistrate was to request the AG's chambers to file for "revision" in the High court against the Magistrate's order. Not by lodging police reports lah! Making allegations of "obstructing investigations" and "interfering" in the police reports are plain STUPID ! There I said it.
Is this a case of the police bullying the Magistrates to do their bidding ? Oh dear! Pening kepalalah! Where is my panadol ?
